My ambition is to keep creating — across sound design, composition, production, and performance — and to write music that people can love and remember; for everything I compose, it must be, at the very least, memorable.

About

James Corley is a composer-researcher investigating creative ergonomics and real-time performance systems across electronic and progressive musics. He is currently in the final stages of his PhD research project: “The Hexaphonic Guitar: Composition, Technology, and Creative Ergonomics”.

He has extensive experience and training in music composition (popular, classical, and electroacoustic), production (mixing, mastering, engineering), and technology (programming, electronics).

James is a company director of Last City Studios , acting as music and audio lead for an upcoming animation series, and works as music producer through his production company redev-studios .

James has worked in a number of musical projects over the years, contributing both creatively and practically. He was the frontman, arranger, producer and live engineer for Macclesfield-based alternative rock band Von from 2022–2024, and has operated as a solo electronic artist from 2024, releasing music under the pseudonym redev . James is currently in the process of developing a new project focussing on live performance, set to debut in 2027.
